Kentaro Miura is the mangaka of the popular dark fantasy series "Berserk". His career started in 1976 with his first short series "Miuranger" which he made for his classmates. Unfortunately Miura died a little over a year ago on may 6th 2021 at the age of 54. Although he has died his series berserk is still regarded as one of the best dark fantasy stories ever told. I take inspiration from him because I love his style of work and the setting he bases his work around. I love how he expresses intense emotions like anger with rough and sharp lines and when it is more calm or melancholy the line are much more smooth and clean.

Rene Magritte is Belgian surrealist artist who was known for creating extremely witty and thought provoking paintings. some of his most famous work would be "The Lovers", "The Son of Man", and "Golconda". His work is also known for challenging the viewers' precondition perceptions of reality. Rene Magritte died at the age of 67 on August 15, 1967. His work has become inspirational to me because I love the feeling I get when I look at his work. The overall aesthetic of his work inspires me too and I want to create the same uneasy presence he creates through his work. I love the colours he uses in his paintings and how soft it makes them feel. and I love when he creates paintings where we cant see the subjects face.
