The Mysteries of Mythology is a series of paintings that focuses on mythological and folklore creatures around the world. The medium used was Acrylic paint on canvas as I wanted to improve my skills in that area. The series consists of 5 paintings, with most of them focusing on a creature in a different part of the world. When making the paintings I tried to make each painting have a unique colour compared to the others so each would be able to stand out and draw people's attention. I decided to make this series because I am extremely interested in mythology and folklore and I wanted to be able to create unique silhouettes instead of something basic. I feel that compared to last year my painting has improved tenfold and I feel like I am able to create a more detailed subject and background but when it comes to tiny intricate details I still struggle with that part.

So recently my visual arts and media academy had the celebration of learning. It is an event to showcase the work and development of the amazing artist in the VAM academy this year. I got to showcase some of my work at this. Some of my favourites that I showcased were my watercolour mannequin drawing along with my painting and photography. I felt like they were overall the strongest pieces that I showed and they were the ones I was the most satisfied with especially the watercolor one because it was y FIrst time using watercolours and I felt that I did a decent job for my first time. The show itself was pretty interesting, it was the first tie I was at a celebration and I didn't know what to expect. It was a little boring at the start but then my family came and I could show them my art. This year has been different for me this year, although I'm still not particularly always satisfied with my work I've been a lot happier with the improvement I have seen in myself this year. The artwork I have produced in VAM has started to look much more professional and I am excited to see more of my growth in the coming year. Alright so to start things off the biggest project in my VAM class has started. It has been an enjoyable journey so far and we have reached the halfway point. Through the weeks of this project, I realized how difficult it is to get things done within a time limit and also stay on time with my plan. My plan was to finish a painting each week and by now I should have been finished my second painting. Unfortunately, it has taken longer than expected the painting is looking good though so there is some plus side to the longer time it takes Aside from this though the Independence of this project has allowed me to express myself much better and improve on the skills I have wanted to improve upon. This project has also given me ideas to do for next year, which is always a good thing because I can plan even better now. To sum it up this project has been very educational I have learnt new techniques when it comes to painting I have learnt to use my time more wisely and I’ve learned to think of more thought-out plans in the future. I am excited to see what my project holds in the weeks to come and I’m glad I can take you along with me. Have a good rest of your day readers
So recently last week the VAM and CAPA academies finally presented our current main project we had to work on. The Presentations were about movements that took place in different periods. The VAM kids presentations were all base on movements involving visual arts. The CAPA kid’s presentations were on movements involving performing arts. It was really enjoyable to see the diversity in all the movements and be able to make connections with things from other movements that could have inspired future movements. I got to learn a lot about the arts and it was very fascinated to learn about all the different cultures and how differently they all portrayed art. My presentation was about the Surrealism movement that took place in the 1920s. I found that gathering up information was something I excel in when I got into my groove and learning about the movement was enjoyable. I sadly struggled with everything else from creating my infographic to presenting I always fell short of my expectations. To elaborate more I had poorly planned my time when creating my infographic I focus on littler details then thinking of the big picture which led to me handing it in late I also struggle with the Artifacts I had to make I again took too long on them which led to me handing them in late. To finish off my critiques on me, when it came to the actual presentation I bombed it I didn’t speak clearly and wasn’t able to make eye contact and didn’t fall into the time limit I had on the presentation. What I’d do differently next time is plan it all out better trying to stay within my time limit and pushing it to its limit. Through this entire project, I learned a lot of things. I learned that I’m not a good social speaker and that I need to learn to plan my time better. I also learned that I am more invested when it comes to something I am interested in. And I also learned that I need to learn more about design to create a more intriguing presentation in the future. To finish off the presentations that I got to see last week were all such an amazing experience getting to learn more about it and I recommend if you ever have the time to go research about movements in art. Thank you all for your time to read this.
Recently at my school there was a celebration of learning that happened and a part of it was showcasing art that the students in my art class were proud about. Unfortunately I was unable to come to this celebration because I didn’t really want to go anyways. There were no benefits to me coming to it especially when the art I showcased wasn't anything special and wasn't the greatest. This made it extremely easy for me not to attend this event as I said I wasn't entirely proud of the work I was showcasing. If I were to change something so I would feel inclined to actually go, I would most likely want my art to actually have some importance and meaning to me. Anyways that is all to the viewers who may or may not be reading this blog have a good rest of your day.
